栖凤林位于北门商业街对面，是一片保存完好的原始生态林。其形态从空中俯瞰如展翅飞翔的凤凰。凤，是中华文明标志性图腾之一，也是楚文化的主要象征，楚人尚凤。湖北经济学院校徽“腾飞的经院”也如一只展翅飞翔的凤凰，寓意经院腾龙栖凤，培育良才。校徽与凤文化相呼应，增添了校园的自然美感和文化内涵。
Facing the North Gate Commercial Street, Qifeng (meaning phoenix resting) Forest is a well-preserved area of original ecology. Viewed from above, the trees resemble a phoenix in flight, symbolizing the spirit of soaring ambitions and dreams, while echoing the school's emblem and cultural heritage.
